How to treat a cyst on the left side of the kidney

Treatment of left kidney cysts depends on the severity of the condition. If the cyst is small, generally no treatment is needed, regular checkups, and antibiotics can be used if the infection is combined; if the cyst is large, surgery can generally be taken.
1. If the size of left kidney cyst is relatively small, less than 4cm, and the patient does not have any clinical symptoms, generally do not need to carry out special treatment, if the combination of infection needs to be preferred antibiotic treatment. Follow the doctor’s instructions to choose quinolone levofloxacin or cephalosporin antibiotic cefixime.
2. If the cyst is relatively large, for the diameter of >4cm, or produce symptoms such as low back pain or compression of the collecting system can be considered puncture aspiration and injection of sclerosing agent such as anhydrous ethanol to prevent recurrence. Cystectomy or even nephrectomy should be considered for patients with huge cysts with a volume of >500 ml, malignant tendency or recurrence after puncture.
Patients with left-sided renal cysts are recommended to consult regular hospitals and standardize treatment under the guidance of physicians.
