How many chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma will result in a complete cure?

It is not certain how many chemotherapy treatments will completely cure a lymphoma, and not all lymphomas can be cured. Some Hodgkin’s lymphoma can be cured by chemotherapy, which usually requires 6 to 8 courses of chemotherapy with individual differences.

Lymphoma is a malignant tumor of the blood system, which can be divided into two categories: Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The main symptom of patients is painless progressive lymph node enlargement, accompanied by fever, emaciation and other symptoms.

The treatment for lymphoma is based on chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy and other integrated treatments.

Currently, some Hodgkin’s lymphoma patients can be cured by chemotherapy, and the commonly used drugs include doxorubicin, bleomycin, vincristine, dacarbazine and so on. Usually, 6~8 courses of chemotherapy are needed, which need to be adjusted according to the patient’s clinical stage and have certain individual differences.

The possibility of cure for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is very low, and the prognosis is related to the specific type and stage, etc. The treatment is mainly based on chemotherapy, supplemented by radiotherapy, and the active treatment can help improve the survival rate.

Once found lymphoma should be early and standardized treatment without delay, which can improve the prognosis.
