Huang Jing Sheng Di

Huang Jing Sheng Di is used to clear heat and cool blood (to relieve blood heat by clearing heat), nourish yin and promote the production of body fluid, tonify qi and strengthen the spleen, moisten the lungs and benefit the kidneys. It works to treat conditions caused by deficiency of kidney yin, weakness of the spleen and stomach, and lung deficiency.
Huang Jing is flat in nature, sweet in taste and belongs to the spleen, lung and kidney meridians. Its main effects are nourishing Yin and tonifying Qi, strengthening the spleen, moistening the lungs and benefiting the kidneys; it is mainly used in treating weakness of the spleen and stomach, drowsiness and fatigue of the body, dryness of the mouth, poor appetite, dry and coughing of the lungs, insufficiency of essence and blood, internal heat, thirst, and so on. Adverse reactions are not clear, and it is contraindicated for people with cold diarrhea, phlegm-dampness plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort) and stagnant qi.
Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata (i.e. Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata) is cold in nature, sweet in taste, and belongs to the heart meridian, liver meridian and kidney meridian. Its main effects are clearing heat and cooling blood, nourishing yin and promoting the production of body fluid; it is mainly used in treating fever with tongue-redness and thirst, internal heat due to yin deficiency, tidal fever of bone vaporization (a burst of heat, feeling that the heat is penetrating from inside the bone to the outside), internal heat, thirst, vomiting of blood, epistaxis, spotting, rash, etc. It is also used in treating the symptoms of fever. Adverse reactions and contraindications are not known.
