Febuxostat is a long-term therapeutic drug for gout patients with hyperuricemia, but is not recommended for hyperuricemia without clinical symptoms, and needs to be used under the guidance of a doctor. Febuxostat commonly used dosage form for tablets, belongs to the xanthine oxidase inhibitor, can inhibit uric acid synthesis to reduce serum uric acid concentration. It is used for the long-term treatment of hyperuricemia in people with gout, not for people with hyperuricemia without clinical symptoms. Adverse reactions to febuxostat can be seen as abnormal liver function, nausea, arthralgia, rash, anemia, angina pectoris, tinnitus, abdominal distension, constipation, weakness, allergic reactions, infections, anorexia and other adverse reactions. The drug is contraindicated in people who are allergic to the components of the product, or who are receiving treatment with mercaptopurine or azathioprine. Note that the use of febuxostat in patients with acute attacks of gouty arthritis may result in the worsening of joint symptoms that are not easily controlled, therefore, febuxostat is not recommended for use in patients with acute attacks of gouty arthritis.
