What’s wrong with dry lips and shortness of breath?

Sweaty lips and shortness of breath in Chinese medicine may be caused by deficiency of both qi and yin (deficiency of both qi and yin). Over-exertion or prolonged illness, which depletes qi and injures yin, qi deficiency leads to shortness of breath and yin deficiency leads to fluid deficiency, resulting in symptoms such as sweaty lips, dry mouth and thirst. Less water consumption and less activity may also lead to dry lips and shortness of breath. Symptoms such as dry lips and shortness of breath are usually due to overwork or old age and chronic illness, resulting in deficiency of both qi and yin. Clinical symptoms of qi deficiency include tiredness and weakness (fatigue), tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, and excessive sweating. Yin deficiency leads to fluid deficiency, causing symptoms such as dry lips, dry mouth, thirst, desire to drink, dry skin, and dry stools. Patients with dry lips, shortness of breath and other symptoms that continue to be unrelieved are advised to consult a regular hospital in a timely manner and use medication under the guidance of a doctor’s diagnosis and treatment, do not take medication on your own to delay your condition, and pay attention to rest to prevent over-exertion.
