Lesions are not the same as carcinomas; lesions are a generic term and carcinomas are a type of lesion; they are both different and related.
Lesion refers to pathological changes in the form as well as function of organs and tissue structures of the human body. Carcinoma refers to benign diseases or tumors which, after the development of disease, show the uninhibited proliferation, hyperplasia and even spreading and metastasis of tumor cells, or the irreversible change of cancer cells.
The scope of lesions is relatively broad, including benign lesions and malignant lesions. Inflammation, cysts, polyps, benign tumors, etc. are also included in benign lesions. Malignant lesions mainly refer to various malignant tumors, and part of malignant lesions are cancerous. And cancerous lesions include skin cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, bladder cancer and so on.
In the examination process, the appearance of lesions, need to do further examination, according to the nature of the lesion and clinical manifestations, further assessment and judgment.
