How to treat redness and inflammation in the ear

Redness and inflammation in the ear may be associated with acute diffuse otitis externa, boils of the external auditory canal, eczema of the external auditory canal and other diseases, which require the choice of causative and symptomatic treatment depending on the cause of the disease and symptomatology. The use of medication should be in accordance with medical advice.
1. Acute diffuse otitis externa: under the stimulation of water intake, allergy and ear digging, it can lead to bacterial or viral infection of the external auditory canal, and congestion and edema of the external auditory canal. Antibiotics such as amoxicillin can be applied systemically for anti-infection treatment, and tampons soaked with 10% ichthyol glycerin can be applied locally to avoid over-stimulation of the external auditory canal, so as not to damage the skin.
2. External auditory canal boil: on the basis of actively using cephalosporin antibiotics to fight infection, a fine tampon soaked with 10% ichthyol glycerin can be placed on the boil, and local hot compresses, infrared irradiation, helium-neon laser irradiation can be used to promote inflammation limitation or maturation of the boil. For broken boils, after cleaning with 75% alcohol, antibiotic tampon can be used.
3. Eczema of the external auditory canal: After contact with or ingestion of allergens, allergic reactions of the external auditory canal can be triggered, resulting in oozing, redness, swelling, itching and other discomforts of the ear canal. Need to avoid contact with clear allergens, oral loratadine and other antihistamines, after cleaning with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, choose mometasone furoate ointment topical application of the affected area.
