Dangers of Laser Treatment

Due to the strong penetration of laser treatment, heat may be generated for deep tissues or skin surface. If the energy is not properly controlled, there is a possibility of soft tissue burns, especially after deep soft tissue burns, which may lead to necrosis and infection of deep soft tissues. In addition, if the laser is used for lithotripsy, especially for the treatment of kidney or ureteral stones, there is a risk of damage to the soft tissues of the kidney or ureter. For patients with poor coagulation, laser treatment may cause rupture and bleeding of capillaries, resulting in subcutaneous petechiae and, in severe cases, the formation of subcutaneous hematomas.
