People with gallstones should eat less or no walnuts.
Gallstones are possible due to high cholesterol diet, high blood cholesterol, obesity, etc. Cholesterol is the main component of gallstones. If you eat greasy food it may lead to high cholesterol in the organism and hence gallstones.
Walnuts have a relatively high oil content of up to 70%, which may cause cholecystitis if eaten regularly by gallstone patients. If walnuts are eaten during an attack of the disease, they may also exacerbate the contraction of the gallbladder, causing complications such as biliary colic, jaundice and fever.
Patients with gallstones need to eat a light diet, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and eat more low-fat food. They should not eat foods such as fried and barbecue, or it may lead to aggravation of the condition.
