Cervical insufficiency suggests carrying a single child, which will reduce the incidence of miscarriage and preterm labor. Cervical insufficiency is due to congenital low fibrous tissue and smooth muscle of the cervix, or pathological dilatation and relaxation of the cervix due to breakage of the fibrous tissue of the cervix, low sphincter capacity, etc. It is mainly manifested by preterm delivery of the fetus and repeated miscarriage in the middle and late stages of pregnancy. Twin births are not recommended for people with cervical insufficiency because they increase the tension on the cervical area and thus increase the risk of miscarriage. Meanwhile, pregnant women with cervical insufficiency need to pay attention to bed rest, if the diagnosis is made before pregnancy, they can do cervical cerclage first, and if the diagnosis is made after pregnancy, they can be admitted to the hospital to do cervical cerclage at 12-14 weeks; for pregnant women who have not been diagnosed, but suddenly have painless dilatation of the uterine opening, they can do emergency cervical cerclage. It is recommended that those with cervical insufficiency should preferably carry a single child to avoid an increase in miscarriages and preterm deliveries.
