What tests are done for lung nodules

The tests to be done for lung nodules are chest CT plain + enhanced, cranial CT, abdominal CT, whole-body bone scan, puncture biopsy, etc., as well as blood tests for tumor markers and other items. Lung nodule is mainly a kind of lung tissue neoplasm found by chest CT examination, which may be benign, but there is still a smaller probability of malignant tumor, so it needs to be further examined and considered in combination with clinical symptoms, past environment or smoking condition. People with lung nodules need to have blood tests for tumor markers, and some patients can have a puncture biopsy to determine the benign or malignant nature of the nodules. If the nodules are benign, they can be left untreated and reviewed regularly. If it is malignant, we need to consider the source, some are metastatic from other parts of the body, so we need to check the abdominal CT, ultrasound, etc.; or it may be the primary malignant tissue in the lungs, which may have metastasized to other locations, and we need to check the craniocerebral CT and whole-body bone scan, etc.
