NK cells are a type of lymphocyte, derived from bone marrow, also known as natural killer cells, which are highly lethal and immunogenic. It is an intrinsic immune cell in the human body, accounting for 5 per thousand of the number of all white blood cells in the blood.
The main function of NK cells is anti-tumor, which will monitor the body’s immune life span and loss of tumor cells. There are also anti-viral, anti-infection, anti-bacterial and immunomodulatory effects. They are generally distributed in the liver, spleen and peripheral circulation, and can effectively fight infections and malignant tumors.
The activity of NK cells is often tested clinically, mainly to check the state of the patient’s immune function and determine whether there is any immune abnormality.
