The difference between the appendix and the appendix is mainly reflected in the anatomical part, size, function and so on. 1. Anatomical parts: the cecum is the beginning of the large intestine, the left side connects to the ileum, the upper side connects to the ascending colon; cecum after the force arm extends a very thin is the appendix, that is, the root of the appendix starts from the cecum, such as earthworm-like. 2. Size: under normal circumstances, the appendix is small in size, about 3-5cm in length and 1cm in diameter; while the cecum is relatively thicker and larger, and the difference in size can be observed through imaging, such as abdominal ultrasound and CT examination. 3. Function: Since the cecum is the starting part of the ascending colon, its main function is to store food, prevent fecal reflux, and absorb water and inorganic salts at the same time; whereas the appendix belongs to the lymphatic organs, which are mainly involved in supervising lymphocytes, and it is an immune organ of the human body before adulthood.
