Allergic rhinitis, also known as allergic rhinitis, is a common allergic disease. It is caused by specific individual exposure to allergens and is also associated with muscular immunity. The cause of allergy is difficult to find. Allergic rhinitis can occur at any age, especially in adolescents, and is characterized by nasal itching, sneezing, runny nose and nasal congestion. The disease causes serious obstacles to work, study and life.
In October 2015, an acquaintance introduced a male patient with the disease, aged around 40 years old, living in the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University, who had been suffering from the disease for more than 10 years, with almost daily attacks, especially nasal congestion and sneezing at night, making it difficult to sleep and very painful. He was mainly treated at Sun Yat-sen University School of Medicine with anti-allergic western medicine, which worked for a while but immediately relapsed. His relative worked at Sun Yat-sen University and had a working relationship with me, so he was referred to the clinic.
He was treated for 3 months and got significant results. I would like to share the treatment process with you in the hope that it will be useful for the treatment of other patients with this disease.
1. When the patient came to the clinic, he had typical symptoms of itchy nose, sneezing, runny nose and nasal congestion. In particular, the clear snot was continuous and tissues were used one after another.
2. The patient complained that it was especially difficult to sleep during the attack and got up many times at night, which not only caused pain to himself but also affected the rest of his family.
3. Upon closer observation, the patient looks pale and depressed.
Although the disease is common, it is not easy to achieve significant results, especially to reduce recurrence. Upon careful questioning, the patient complained of being very easily fatigued and more afraid of cold than the average person. The tongue was white and fat. According to the TCM diagnosis, the patient’s white face, white tongue coating and fear of cold were obvious signs of Yang deficiency; easy fatigue and mental depression were also signs of Qi deficiency. The other symptoms were considered as Yang deficiency in the lungs, spleen and kidneys, so I treated him by warming the lungs and tonifying the lungs and kidneys.
After 3 months of treatment, the effect was very obvious, and the symptoms such as itchy nose, sneezing and runny nose basically disappeared, and the attacks were rare. Especially, the patient said that he could finally sleep peacefully after so many years.
Later on, he treated several patients with allergic rhinitis and also achieved better results.
