Erythromycin ointment is not effective in the treatment of rhinitis. Erythromycin ointment is clinically effective in the treatment of nasal problems mainly for the treatment of nasal vestibulitis or dry nasal mucosa. Erythromycin ointment is a macrolide antibiotic, which is effective against Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Streptococcus haemolyticus and Staphylococcus, and has a better effect on local infections, but is less effective for rhinitis. For the treatment of allergic rhinitis, the drugs commonly used clinically are endosulfan, eserpine and coleus. For the treatment of simple rhinitis, the commonly used drug is hydroxyzoline hydrochloride nasal spray, and the usual course of treatment is two weeks. For dry rhinitis, physiological seawater can be used at the same time to relieve the problem of dry nasal mucosa by nasal rinsing twice a day.
