Nodules in the submandibular gland may be enlargement of lymph nodes or cysts of the submandibular gland, or space-occupying lesions of the submandibular gland. The causes are different and the treatments are different. 1. Enlarged lymph nodes: enlarged lymph nodes in the jaw may be caused by local tissue infection, anti-inflammatory drugs can be given, and cephalosporins such as cefixime and cefdinir can be chosen for treatment. 2. Submaxillary gland cyst: Submaxillary gland cyst is a benign lesion, the growth rate is relatively slow, if you find a submaxillary gland cyst, but generally have no effect on the body, do not need special treatment, just need regular observation, light diet, do a good job of local cleaning, avoid irritation or infection. If the cyst has a tendency to increase in size, it can be removed by surgery. 3. Occupying lesion of submandibular gland: if it is determined that it is occupying lesion of submandibular gland, surgery is needed to remove the tumor of submandibular gland and the diseased submandibular gland completely to prevent recurrence, and the tumor will be pathologically examined to determine the benignness or malignancy. If the tumor is malignant, chemotherapy can be performed as prescribed by the doctor if necessary, and chemotherapeutic drugs such as carboplatin, mitomycin and paclitaxel are commonly used. If the diagnosis of submandibular gland nodules is confirmed, early and standardized treatment is recommended.
