How to check micronutrients in infants

Infants are mainly checked for trace elements by drawing blood, and there are two commonly used methods, one is to take fingertip blood and the other is venous blood test.
Taking blood from infants using absorption spectroscopy can accurately check the micronutrient content of the blood, and either fingertip blood or venous blood can be chosen for the test when the blood is taken. It is recommended that the blood be drawn when the child is fasting because the gastrointestinal tract absorbs all kinds of nutrients, including micronutrients, into the bloodstream after a full meal, and the micronutrient levels checked at this time do not truly reflect the body’s reserves.
If the child lacks trace elements, or too many trace elements, may affect the health, so suspect that the child has trace element abnormalities should promptly go to the hospital, under the guidance of the doctor to standardize the examination, do not blindly supplement the trace elements, to avoid adverse consequences.
