What’s Lift and Shine?

Lifting and dispersing is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine prescription, with the effect of ascending Qing and descending Turbid (making Qing qi rise and Turbid qi fall), dispersing wind and clearing heat, and clinically used for the certificate of Qing yang not ascending (light and clear yang qi can’t rise) and Turbid yin not descending because of the blockage of qi mechanism by evil heat. Lifting and dispersing is composed of stiff silkworms, cicadas, rhubarb and turmeric, and is often used in warm-heat diseases where the evil heat fills up the interior and exterior, blocking the qi, resulting in the failure of clear yang to rise and turbid yin to descend, with manifestations such as enlargement of the head and face, swelling and pain in the throat, fullness of the chest and diaphragm, vomiting and abdominal pain, bleeding of the skin, reddening of the skin, insomnia, and vomiting and diarrhea. It is contraindicated in pregnant women and those with weak spleen and stomach, and the adverse reactions include vomiting and diarrhea. Taking Elevating and Dispersing needs to be under the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, individuals should not take the medicine on their own to avoid adverse consequences.
