Ureteral stones should be selected according to different stone sizes and can be rapidly discharged through the use of medications, physical methods and surgical treatments. Patients can follow the doctor’s instructions to use drugs such as tamsulosin to relieve smooth muscle spasm, reduce the resistance of stone discharge, and promote the discharge of stones. Physical methods such as bouncing, jumping, and instrumental therapy can also be used to increase the pressure above and improve the chances of stone expulsion. For patients with no obstruction in the distal ureter and smaller stones, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy can be used, which is safe and less traumatic; for patients with poor results of conservative treatment or larger ureteral stones, they can be treated by ureteroscopic lithotripsy and stone extraction surgery. Surgery is more efficient in treating and removing ureteral stones. Patients should also change their bad habits during the day to reduce the recurrence of stones, and go to the hospital for timely examination and surgical treatment when necessary.
