Possible causes of hepatic nodule 2cm include benign liver tumor, hepatocellular carcinoma, metastatic liver tumor, and nodular regeneration of liver. 1. Benign liver tumors: including hepatic adenoma, hepatic hemangioma, lipoma, neurofibroma, etc. Most of those with small size have no obvious symptoms. 2. Hepatocellular carcinoma: Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the liver, and those ≤2 cm are called microscopic hepatocellular carcinomas, and most of them are in the early stage of hepatocellular carcinoma. 3. Metastatic liver tumor: Liver is the site of easy metastasis of many malignant tumors, especially digestive malignant tumors, such as gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, colorectal cancer and so on. Liver metastatic tumors are mostly manifested as multiple small nodules on imaging, and with the progress of disease, malignant nodules can gradually increase in size or fusion, which will then seriously affect the function of liver. 4. Cirrhotic nodules: Repeatedly impaired liver function can eventually cause cirrhosis, resulting in cirrhotic nodules. In addition to the above reasons, 2 cm liver nodules may also be focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver, inflammatory nodules and so on. Patients are advised to go to the hospital as soon as possible to clarify the nature of the nodules and treat them accordingly.
