How to treat a deviated septum

Nasal septal deviation does not require treatment if it is asymptomatic, but if it affects the ventilation function, headache, nosebleed and other symptoms, surgical treatment is feasible. 1. No need for treatment: Physiological nasal septal deviation of congenital development without obvious symptoms usually does not need treatment because of individual differences in growth and development of each person. 2. Surgical treatment: If the deviated nasal septum causes persistent nasal congestion, reflex headache, nosebleed and other symptoms, and the medication does not improve the symptoms, surgical treatment can be considered, such as deviated septum submucosal resection, septoplasty, septum correction, to restore the normal structure of the nasal cavity, and improve the ventilation and drainage. Patients with deviated nasal septum are advised to seek timely medical treatment and follow the physician’s advice in order to avoid delaying their condition.
