Contraindications for nucleic acid testing

There are no contraindications to performing a nucleic acid test, only a few precautions. The nucleic acid test is used to check for viral infections and is usually done by taking a throat or nasal swab. Hygiene of the mouth and nose is required before the test, and a mask is also needed. Smoking, drinking or eating a lot of food are not recommended near the time of sampling, and you can rinse your mouth properly with water.
