Can ultrasound detect cholecystitis?

Gallbladder infection can be seen by ultrasound. Before gallbladder examination, it must be done on an empty stomach, which can easily lead to contraction of the gallbladder if it is after eating. A contracted gallbladder cannot be examined systematically and comprehensively under ultrasound. Therefore, when the gallbladder is examined in the fasting state, the irritability of the gallbladder wall and the thickening of the gallbladder wall can be seen before the gallbladder contracts, and this situation is generally diagnostic of cholecystitis. If there are some strong echoes on the gallbladder wall or posterior with acoustic shadow, it can be diagnosed as a case of gallbladder stones, and with the change of body position, some gallbladder stones may appear to move. Therefore, recurrent gallbladder stones also tend to aggravate the occurrence of cholecystitis, and examination of the gallbladder can be improved with ultrasound examination basically for a clear diagnosis.
