How to tell if shoulder pain is caused by lung cancer

In order to recognize whether shoulder pain is caused by lung cancer or not, it is necessary to do the examination related to lung cancer. It is easy to confirm the diagnosis through clinical symptoms, medical history and examination results, and you cannot rely on shoulder pain alone to determine whether there is lung cancer. Lung cancer is mostly seen in people over 40 years old who smoke, and patients may show symptoms such as cough, blood in sputum, chest tightness, chest pain and dyspnea. Shoulder pain is not a common and specific manifestation of lung cancer, but can be present when bone metastasis occurs. If patients have these symptoms, they should do relevant examinations including lung X-ray, CT, MRI, bronchoscopy, sputum exfoliative cytology, etc. If cancer cells are found, it can be confirmed that they have cancer. However, shoulder pain can be caused by a variety of reasons, not necessarily caused by lung cancer. Patients need to actively consult the doctor, do not blindly treat the disease, do not use medication on their own, and follow the standardized treatment under the guidance of doctor’s consultation.
