Formulation of Seven-flavored Duqi Pills

The formula of Qiwei Duqi Pill consists of Schisandra chinensis (vinegar), Cornus officinalis (prepared), Poria, Mudanpi, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata (ripened rhizome), Chinese yam (Dioscorea opposita) and Zedoaria. Qiwei Duqi Pill is a proprietary Chinese medicine, which is a formula composed of a variety of traditional Chinese medicines, including vinegar schizandra, ripened dihuang and zedoary. This product is a black-brown water honey pill; it has a slightly fragrant odor and a sweet, slightly sour taste. The medicine has the efficacy of tonifying the kidneys and holding qi (treating kidney failure to hold qi by tonifying the kidneys), astringing semen and stopping spermatorrhea (consolidating semen and preventing spermatorrhea). It is used for wheezing (wheezing with shortness of breath), tightness in the chest, prolonged coughing, shortness of breath, dryness in the throat, spermatorrhea, night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, and stopping of sweating after waking up), and frequent urination caused by kidney failure to hold qi. The adverse reactions of Seven-flavored Duqi Pill are not clear at present. Contraindications are external cough and asthma should not take this medicine. Precautions are not clear.
