What to look for after a tracheoscopy

The precautions for patients after tracheoscopy include reasonable diet, sufficient rest, and prevention of infection.
1. Reasonable diet: patients undergoing local anesthesia, avoid eating within two hours after the examination. Patients under general anesthesia, avoid eating within six hours after the examination, to prevent choking symptoms after the examination because of eating. Diet, appropriate supplement rich in vitamins and protein food, eat less cold, spicy stimulating food.
2. Adequate rest: patients need to rest after the examination, avoid strenuous exercise. After the examination, patients are recommended to keep the side lying position. Because a few patients will have hemoptysis after the examination, if they keep lying down, the blood may enter the normal bronchial tubes due to hemoptysis, which may lead to choking and asphyxiation.
3. Prevent infection: do a good job of oral hygiene care after the examination, avoid scratching the skin to avoid secondary infection. As tracheoscopy is an invasive examination, improper patient care may easily lead to wound infection.
It is abnormal when the patient has symptoms such as severe cough, chest pain, dyspnea and so on after tracheoscopy, at this time, he should consult a doctor in time to determine whether there is any complication.
