It is used for treating blood deficiency and atrophy, irregular menstruation, carbuncle (a kind of poisonous sore, an acute suppurative disease occurring on the body surface, limbs and internal organs) sores, etc. It is not recommended for patients with feverish bleeding. It is forbidden to be taken by patients suffering from feverish bleeding, and should be taken with caution by people suffering from dampness (too much dampness leading to fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) and loose stools. Salvia miltiorrhiza has the effects of activating blood circulation and regulating menstruation (regulating menstruation by activating blood circulation), and removing blood stasis and relieving pain (removing blood stasis to relieve pain). It is used for treating irregular menstruation, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, postpartum abdominal pain with blood stasis, heart pain with blood stasis, and pain in the epigastrium (abdomen). Women with excessive menstruation and without blood stasis are forbidden to take; pregnant women should take with caution; should not be used with veratrum. Frankincense has the efficacy of activating blood circulation, promoting qi and relieving pain (relieving pain by regulating the body’s qi), and subduing swelling and regenerating muscles. It is used for treating chest paralysis (chest pain), heart pain, stomach and epigastric pain, dysmenorrhea and menstrual cramps. It should be taken with caution for those with weak stomachs, and is forbidden to be taken by pregnant women and those without stagnation of blood. Myrrh has the effects of activating blood circulation, relieving pain, subduing swelling and regenerating muscle. It is used for treating bruises and injuries caused by stagnation of blood stasis, stagnation and swelling pain, carbuncle and gangrene, sores and ulcers that do not close for a long time after ulceration, chest pain, dystocia (pain in the area of dystocia and ribs), cardiac and abdominal pain, dysmenorrhea, and postpartum abdominal pain, etc. It is not recommended for pregnant women and those without stagnation. Contraindicated for pregnant women and those without stasis. If medication is needed, it should be identified by a doctor and standardized treatment should be followed.
