Cirrhosis is the end stage of a chronic, progressive, diffuse liver disease caused by different etiologic factors acting on the liver over a long period of time. If detected at an early stage and treated for the causes of cirrhosis, the onset of cirrhosis and its complications can be delayed and even early cirrhosis can be reversed. Usually, the treatment of cirrhosis is comprehensive, firstly targeting the cause of the disease, for example, patients with alcoholic cirrhosis must stop drinking, those with active hepatitis B virus replication must be treated with antiviral therapy, and drugs that are harmful to the liver are avoided. In the late stage, the treatment mainly focuses on the complications. If the patient’s liver disease has developed into cirrhosis, he should actively seek medical treatment and under the guidance of professional physicians for standardized treatment.
