What is the procedure for vaccination against rabies?

“Rabies is a lethal disease, and rabies vaccination should be administered according to the procedure after all high-risk exposures without any contraindications, but the recipient should be fully questioned about basic individual circumstances (e.g. history of severe allergies, other serious illnesses, etc.) before vaccination. The vaccine should be administered under close supervision even if there are circumstances that make it unsuitable for vaccination.
Two vaccination procedures are currently recommended in China.
The 5-dose method (available for all vaccines): 1 dose each on days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28, for a total of 5 doses; the “2-1-1″ procedure (only available for rabies vaccine products approved for this procedure in China): 2 doses on day 0 (1 dose each in the deltoid muscle of the left and right upper arms), 1 dose on day 7 and 1 dose on day 21, for a total of 4 doses. 1 dose on day 7 and 1 dose on day 21, for a total of 4 doses.”
