How long after rabies vaccination can you drink alcohol

Alcohol should be avoided for a week after the rabies vaccination is completely completed. There is no specific time limit, but alcohol is generally not recommended. Drinking alcohol within a short period of time after a rabies vaccination can affect the healing of the injection site and can easily cause increased swelling and pain at the injection site, or even infection and septicemia. Secondly, alcohol can cause blood vessels to dilate and blood flow to accelerate, which can cause rabies virus to transfer faster in the body and may lead to an early onset of rabies. Next, after the rabies vaccination, you should also pay attention not to take a shower for 24 hours to avoid infection at the vaccination site; avoid using hormonal drugs, which are immunosuppressants and can cause the vaccination to be less effective or ineffective; do not vaccinate other vaccines at the same time to avoid reactions; pay attention to rest, ensure sufficient sleep, and avoid strenuous exercise; eat a light diet, drink more plain water, and avoid intake of strong tea, strong coffee, etc. Avoid spicy, greasy and fried foods. In addition, drinking large amounts of alcohol is harmful to health, so it is recommended to quit in time.
