Newborn Fever Symptoms

Neonatal fever symptoms are generally manifested through body temperature, mood, appetite, etc., which can be characterized by elevated body temperature, unstable mood, decreased appetite, and so on. 1. Body temperature: elevated body temperature is the most typical symptom, usually the core temperature (anal temperature) over 37.5 ℃ is called fever, which can be manifested as increased heart rate, shortness of breath and so on. 2. Mood: The mood of newborns can be characterized by abnormal crying, irritability, waking up after falling asleep, or depression and poor mental state. 3. Appetite: infants and young children may experience loss of appetite, vomiting, refusal of milk, and a significant decrease in milk intake. Neonatal fever should be treated in a timely manner to avoid the occurrence of febrile convulsions, which affect the central nervous system.
