Consolidation and maintenance therapy should be continued after complete remission of leukemia m3. Acute promyelocytic leukemia (m3) can be classified into 3 groups based on white blood cell and platelet counts: low-risk, intermediate-risk, and high-risk groups. Treatment regimens vary by grouping, but either regimen is subject to induction remission chemotherapy, consolidation therapy, and maintenance therapy. After achieving complete remission by giving arsenite and all-trans retinoic acid, the 2nd stage is to enter consolidation therapy, and after consolidation therapy comes the 3rd stage, maintenance therapy. Consolidation therapy involves the administration of retinoic acid + arsenic with or without chemotherapy (Zorubicin). 2 to 3 courses of treatment will lead to the third stage, maintenance therapy, when the fusion gene becomes negative. The mainstay of maintenance therapy is the administration of retinoic acid + arsenic. If the diagnosis of leukemia m3 is confirmed, it is recommended that early standardized treatment be carried out under the guidance of a physician, and not self-medication.
