Do adults need to be dewormed?

Adults need to be wormed if they have parasites in their bodies, but not usually if they don’t. When parasites are present in the adult body, they need to be treated promptly by taking deworming medications such as mebendazole and albendazole under a doctor’s supervision. Common parasites include roundworms, which can cause malnutrition, intestinal perforation and other complications; hookworms, which can cause anemia; and schistosomiasis, which appears in the late stages of schistosomiasis, such as schistosomal cirrhosis. If there is no parasitic infection, there is no need to take prophylactic deworming drugs. Parasites should be timely consultation, under the guidance of the doctor for treatment, daily attention to dietary hygiene, do not eat raw food, do not drink raw water, wash your hands before and after meals, pay attention to personal hygiene.
