What is the course of vitiligo?

The course of vitiligo is different for everyone, some have a very slow onset or some remain stable for a long period of time, but once it appears it will be there for life. According to the development of the disease, vitiligo can be divided into progressive and stable stage. 1. Progressive stage: white spots increase, the original white spots gradually to normal skin migration, expansion, border blurred, easy to produce homomorphic reaction and aggravate the condition. Generally, the development is faster in summer and slows down or stops spreading in winter. The duration of the disease varies, and it often spreads rapidly under severe stress such as exposure to sunlight, mental trauma, acute diseases or surgery. 2. Stable stage: the development of white spots stops and the pigmentation at the edge of the border deepens. The disease progresses slowly or has intermittent episodes, or can be stable for a long time. Some of the spots may appear in the affected area first, and then gradually increase and expand, and slowly return to normal skin color. The number of patients who have completely recovered from the disease is relatively small, and there are quite a number of patients who have relapsed after healing. It is recommended that patients go to the hospital in time and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of doctors.
