What is PAC? PAC is the abbreviation of Post-Abortion Care, which means post-abortion care. The latest findings of World Contraception Day 2011 show that there are on average more than 8 million abortions each year in China, with a repeat abortion rate of 50%. Repeat abortions are harmful to women’s reproductive health, and the higher the number of abortions, the higher the incidence of complications and sequelae of abortion. Research data shows that for women who have more than three repeat abortions, the complication rate will be higher than 34.62%. Repeated abortions also pose a long-term risk of impaired fertility. Studies have shown that 88.2% of women with secondary infertility have had an abortion, and women who have experienced repeated abortions are 2.5 times more likely to have a miscarriage during normal childbearing than those with no history of abortion, and 5.44 times more likely to have a premature birth than those who have had one abortion. The PAC service aims to reduce the rate of repeat abortions and protect reproductive health due to the lack of knowledge about contraception after abortion.
