Why do you need to decoct the flowers?

Because the flowers have downy hairs, if the downy hairs shed by the flowers are mixed into the broth, it will irritate the throat and cause discomfort, therefore, it is decocted to eliminate the downy hairs in the broth.

The pungent, open and bitter descending (using pungent medicines to disperse and move qi, and bitter medicines to bring down qi), salty, soft and warm, enters the lungs and eliminates phlegm and congestion, lowers the rebellious flow of water, and relieves coughing and calms wheezing (stops coughing and calms wheezing). It can be applied to wind-phlegm congestion and Qi reversal, chest and diaphragm congestion, wheezing and coughing with much phlegm, regardless of heat or cold. It is used in conjunction with hemixia and ephedra to treat cold phlegm and cough with surface cold.

If phlegm (a pathological product of impaired water metabolism) is stagnant in the middle Jiao, resulting in vomiting and dizziness, it can be used together with Pinellia and Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae; if the stomach qi is weak, and phlegm is stagnant within the body, resulting in upward reversal of the gastric qi (the qi of the stomach rises instead of descends), yelping (hiccups), and hardness of the heart and lower part of the chest (mainly referring to the stomach distension), it can be used together with Dai Ochre Stone and Pinellia.

If you need to take this medicine, it is recommended to do so under the supervision of a doctor.
