The dangers of advertising “ancestral secret recipes” to cure psoriasis

An old teacher suffered from psoriasis more than ten years ago, but the rash was not much, usually without internal medicine, just rubbing some “skin easy” ointment externally, the rash was much better, and there was almost no rash in summer. In January 2005, his brother saw a newspaper that said there was an old “Chinese doctor” who could “cure” psoriasis with an ancestral secret recipe. So he mailed a medical history and money for medicine according to the address on the newspaper, and half a month later, they received four boxes of herbal honey pills in the mail. The old teacher took these 4 boxes of Chinese pills continuously according to the instructions on the box, and indeed most of the psoriasis lesions subsided. He was so happy that he sent money to buy 4 more boxes and continued to take them. His rash all disappeared, and his appetite was very good, his appetite increased greatly, and his original thin body was also plumped up. At that time, the old teacher was very happy and thought he had met a “miracle doctor”. One month after stopping the drug, that is, in May 2006, Lao Meng went to Hainan on a business trip, Hainan’s climate is very good, the temperature and humidity are pleasant, and his work is very free, the mood is also very good. But the psoriasis rash suddenly flared up again, and within a few days the rash grew all over his torso and limbs, much more serious than any previous rash. He had no choice but to interrupt his business trip and return to Weihui from Hainan for psoriasis treatment. After returning to Weihui, the old teacher was hospitalized in order to cure psoriasis as soon as possible. I gave him a positive approach, injections, infusions, medication, and rubbing, and he got better after 2 weeks. After this repeated experience, the old teacher calmly reflected: he always wanted to “cure” psoriasis and took the “ancestral secret formula”, which resulted in more serious psoriasis. It is not as simple as the previous treatment, but the rash is not serious, only a little more in winter. This year, because of the overly aggressive treatment, but the rash has not subsided, really more than worth the loss. Many of the secret herbal remedies claiming to be ancestral may contain corticosteroids, which temporarily make the rash subside. After stopping the medication, it is easy to cause a rebound, but the condition is aggravated.
