Vitiligo patients do not have to forbid eating fruits

The vitiligo this disease although not much harm to the human body, but will produce a great sense of inferiority to the patient’s psychology, life is also seriously affected, in addition, this disease also has a certain heredity. For this disease, many patients have asked: in the end can you eat fruit ah? So, vitiligo and vitamin C is related or not? The actual fact is that there is no consensus on this issue skin community. Probably for this reason, many patients and some dermatologists think that since vitamin C can whiten, it may make vitiligo whiter, so there is the statement that vitiligo cannot take vitamin C. In fact, this is the result of not knowing vitiligo well enough. The direct cause of vitiligo is the loss of melanocytes in the white spot area, which has absolutely nothing to do with vitamin C. Vitamin C only has a retarding effect on tyrosinase within the melanocytes and only improves excessive pigmentation. In fact this effect is also very limited, so it does not have a good whitening effect. For common vitiligo, melanocyte loss is the result of autoimmune reaction of T lymphocytes. Recent studies have shown that melanocyte loss may also be related to an excessive accumulation of oxygen free radicals in the skin. It is interesting to note that vitamin C is the main anti-oxidant free radical substance in the body, so a few years ago there are foreign dermatologists using high doses of vitamin C to assist in the treatment of vitiligo, and achieved some results. Therefore, there is absolutely no need for vitiligo patients to abstain from eating fruits and fresh vegetables rich in vitamin C. The general normal diet can, if deliberately reduce the intake of vegetables and fruits, but will have a negative impact on the body’s immune system, but also on vitiligo recovery.
