Polivir, or clopidogrel, is not recommended for lifelong use as far as current clinical opinion is concerned, and is generally recommended for 6 to 12 months after stenting. Clopidogrel is a clinically used antiplatelet coagulation drug, belonging to the P2Y12 receptor antagonist. It is commonly used in dual-antiplatelet therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention with stent placement for the prevention of reembolization and intra-thrombotic stent formation. Currently, the optimal duration of clopidogrel application has not been clarified, and according to clinical trial data supporting the use of 6 to 12 months, the maximum effect is generally demonstrated after 3 months of administration. Aspirin is generally recommended for patients requiring long-term maintenance antiplatelet therapy. Common contraindications to clopidogrel are: active bleeding, severe liver disease, and clopidogrel allergy. Adverse reactions are: drug rash, gastrointestinal bleeding, granulocytopenia and so on. Patients who experience adverse reactions need to contact their physician and follow medical advice.
