Nasolabial folds is an anatomical term. The nose is the nose, the mouth is the lips of the mouth, and the nasolabial fold refers to the line on either side of the nose, on the human face, called the nasolabial folds. The nasolabial folds are suggestive for the occurrence of some clinical diseases. For example, in patients with facial palsy, the nasolabial folds become shallow and asymmetrical on both sides, which is actually the occurrence of facial muscle paralysis. The nasolabial folds are often used in medical aesthetics to make some transfer flaps here in the nasolabial folds. This is because the folds of the nasolabial fold skin can reduce the formation of scars. Transfer flaps can be used to treat tumors of the nose and to repair trauma to the nose. This is why the nasolabial fold is clinically important.
