Survival in stage II multiple myeloma

Survival of multiple myeloma stage II varies greatly, some can live more than 10 years, and about 50% can live 3~4 years. Multiple myeloma is a malignant proliferative disease of plasma cells, which mostly occurs in middle-aged and old people, males are higher than females, with certain genetic correlation. It is divided into three stages according to the severity, and the clinical manifestations include elevated blood calcium, renal insufficiency, anemia and bone pain. With the continuous introduction of new drugs, such as proteasome inhibitors, the survival time of multiple myeloma can be improved, but it is still incurable and the disease will eventually relapse or progress. The overall median survival of the disease is 3 to 4 years, but the natural course of the disease varies widely, with some patients living more than 10 years. Therapeutic drugs include bortezomib, thalidomide, and cyclophosphamide. In daily life, one should maintain a good mindset, actively treat under the guidance of a physician, avoid collision and strenuous activities, and prevent infections.
