Whether the protrusion of the abdominal muscles in the stomach is normal or not should be determined on a case-by-case basis. It is normal if it is due to physiologic causes such as overfeeding and pregnancy, and abnormal if it is due to pathologic causes such as diaphragmatic hernia.
1. Physiological causes:
(1) Excessive eating: excessive eating and stomach enlargement will lead to protrusion of the abdominal muscles of the stomach. This is a normal physiological phenomenon.
(2) pregnancy: pregnancy with the growth of the fetus, the uterus continues to expand, resulting in the expansion of the epigastric abdomen, there will be a protruding stomach abdominal muscles, which is a normal situation.
2. Pathological causes: the diaphragm pot belly relaxation, intra-abdominal pressure rises, abdominal organs (most commonly stomach) through the diaphragm esophageal hiatus into the thoracic cavity, presenting a protruding stomach abdominal muscle. The condition is then abnormal.
The protruding stomach abdominal muscle alone cannot accurately determine the cause, but also needs to be combined with the characteristics of the medical history, other test results to make an accurate judgment, it is recommended to clarify the cause under the guidance of a doctor to determine whether it is normal or not, and then consider the next step in the treatment or therapy.
