Scabies has a certain incubation period.
When first infected by scabies, it takes about 1 month for symptoms to appear, and it is mainly intense itching. Especially at night when sleeping and the body is warm is the most serious, and itching is so intense that it may cause the patient to scratch overnight and affect sleep, and the strange itching at night is related to the increased activity of scabies at night and the warmth of the environment in which it is located. Once the scabies infects human skin, it likes to parasitize the folds of the skin by playing “tunnels” on the skin, feeding and mating and laying eggs, such as the finger crevices, elbow fossa, armpit, waist and genitals and inner thighs, etc. The most common part is the finger crevices, and sometimes we can see the scabies digging out several threads in the epidermis “tunnels”, its blind end that there is scabies present. The main symptoms of scabies: most of the skin damage caused by scabies is pinhead-sized papules and chestnut-sized blisters, and scratching due to itching produces scratches, blood scabs, pigmentation, etc., and eczema-like changes may be produced in those with severe symptoms over time. Scabies can also invade the head and toe crevices of infants, and in males may cause pruritic nodules in the scrotum due to scratching, such as the size of a soybean or broad bean.
