What is coronary heart disease ACS?

Coronary ACS refers to acute coronary syndromes. Acute coronary syndromes are serious coronary artery diseases, including unstable angina, non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. The pathophysiological mechanism of acute coronary syndrome is due to the instability of the local plaque of coronary atherosclerosis, which leads to platelet aggregation and, in severe cases, the formation of thrombus blocking the coronary artery, causing acute occlusion of the coronary artery, resulting in persistent myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, leading to myocardial necrosis. The acute coronary syndrome should be treated actively, especially for patients with myocardial infarction, and intervention should be given as soon as possible to open the blocked coronary arteries and reduce the area of myocardial necrosis.
