Circumcision alone will not affect the development of the affected child, nor will it lead to a small size or unsatisfactory or short length of the external genitalia. Circumcision alone may lead to, an increased probability of suffering from glansitis and prepuce, and will not lead to abnormal androgen secretion, which may lead to disorders in the development of external genitalia. However, the presence of circumcision during puberty may limit the development of the penis, especially if the state of circumcision remains untreated until the age of 14, which may lead to limited forward growth of the penis during puberty, and lead to a short penis body. Therefore, for children with prepuce, it is recommended that prepuce surgery be performed before puberty to keep penile growth from being restricted, but children who simply exhibit simple prepuce will not affect the development of the child’s penis, and simple prepuce is not an indication for circumcision.
