Fever after MMR vaccination is characterized by a low-grade fever, usually below 38.5°C and subsides spontaneously within 48 hours.
MMR vaccine is a combination vaccine. Children or adults who receive MMR vaccine may experience fever, which is a normal adverse reaction to vaccination, and is usually a mild fever, with a temperature of no more than 38.5°C. The fever after MMR vaccination usually resolves spontaneously.
Fever caused by MMR vaccination usually subsides on its own, usually within 48 hours. Physical cooling, such as wiping the body with warm water, may be appropriate.
Special cases may occur after MMR vaccination, i.e. severe and prolonged fever with body temperature exceeding 38.5℃, in which it is recommended to consult a doctor and take antipyretic drugs such as ibuprofen under the doctor’s supervision.
