Can Iron Deficiency Anemia Be Supplemented With Multiple Intravenous Iron Supplements

Patients with iron deficiency anemia can take multiple intravenous iron supplements. There are two methods of iron supplementation for iron deficiency anemia: one is oral iron supplementation; the other is intravenous iron supplementation. Intravenous iron supplementation is relatively faster than oral iron supplementation. Oral iron supplementation commonly used preparations are ferrous succinate and ferrous sulfate; intravenous iron supplementation commonly used preparations are iron sucrose injection. The common adverse reactions of oral iron supplementation are bloating and black stools; the common adverse reactions of intravenous iron supplementation are mainly allergy, so intravenous iron should theoretically do a skin test, and in the clinic in the first five minutes of intravenous drip at a slow drip, observe whether the patient has general discomfort, muscle pain, joint pain, to exclude the possibility of allergy. Iron deficiency anemia is due to an imbalance in the absorption and excretion of iron in the body, the body’s iron content is reduced. Inadequate iron intake, excessive demand, excessive loss, and impaired absorption and utilization all lead to iron deficiency, resulting in iron deficiency anemia. In addition to oral and intravenous iron supplementation, patients with iron deficiency anemia can eat more iron-containing foods in their daily life, such as lean meat, blood products, animal liver, cherries and so on. Medications need to be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
