Mist storage canisters and quasi-nasal devices are common ways to use medication for children with asthma, but in the process of using them we have found various errors, which are now organized for parents’ reference to correct the errors in time, use the medication correctly and improve the therapeutic effect.
I. Common mistakes in the use of the fog storage tank.
1, the fog storage tank is not cleaned in a timely manner, the drug is deposited on the wall of the tube too much to affect the therapeutic effect.
2, aerosol nozzle inserted into the fog storage tank, the aerosol medicine bottle is not inverted state, resulting in inadequate release of aerosol.
3, breathing too shortness or insufficient inspiratory flow rate, the valve is not open/not open enough.
4, not sucking medicine immediately after spraying, holding the breath or intermittent inhalation or excessive exhalation into the aerosol storage tank.
5.Inhalation time is too short, not reaching 30 seconds before taking away the aerosol storage tank.
6, press the aerosol when the force is too small not pressed to the end, resulting in inadequate release of aerosol.
7, the use of broken aerosol storage cans.
8, not pulling the aerosol cap before inhaling the medicine.
9, not shaking the drug well along the long axis of the aerosol before spraying.
10.The child is lying down when inhaling the drug.
11.Pulling out the medicine from the aerosol storage tank after pressing the medicine, and the medicine comes out from the back.
12.After aspiration, the drug is not cleaned from the face or mouth.
Second, the common errors in the use of the quasi-napper.
1, did not open the shell or did not pull the sliding lever.
2.Breathing into the mouth, lips not wrapped around the quasi-narrower suction nozzle.
3, tongue blocking the suction nozzle.
4, inhalation time is too short and too fast, most of the drug deposited in the pharynx.
5, failure to hold the breath for 10 seconds after inhalation, or puffing the cheeks to hold the breath.
6.Fail to rinse the mouth in time after inhaling the drug.
7, taking the drug orally after pouring it out.
8.Inhaling and pulling out the sliding action at the same time.
9, the upper body does not remain upright when inhaling drugs, and the neck is too forward or backward.
