Symptoms of Summer Dampness Symptoms include heat and thirst, dysuria (unruly urination), or diarrhea. It can be treated with Liu Yi San.
Summer Dampness is an acute exogenous fever caused by feeling summer dampness. Clinical manifestations such as a slight aversion to wind-cold, head distension, chest tightness, heaviness of the body and soreness of the limbs are common. The occurrence of summer-dampness is related to the external feeling of summer-dampness and the weakness of positive qi.
Liu Yi San is composed of talcum powder and licorice, which has the efficacy of clearing summer heat and dampness. It is used for fever, body fatigue, thirst, diarrhea, yellowish urine due to feeling summer dampness; and externally for prickly heat.
It should be noted that, the diet should be light, avoid alcohol and spicy, cold, greasy food; should not take tonic Chinese medicine at the same time during the period of taking the medicine; taking the medicine for 3 days without symptomatic relief, should go to the hospital for consultation.
