The role of cephalosporin III

Cephalosporin III also belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics, so its role is to treat infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to it. There are many kinds of third generation cephalosporins, and each antibiotic has a more or less different antibacterial spectrum, but compared to the first generation cephalosporins and second generation cephalosporins, third generation cephalosporins have a better overall bactericidal effect on gram-negative bacteria, and a slightly weaker bactericidal effect on gram-positive bacteria, and a bactericidal effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The third generation cephalosporins basically have no relevant effect. This class of antibiotics is commonly used clinically with ceftriaxone, cefoperazone, ceftazidime, cefixime and so on.
